So someone said there could be snow Saturday and that’s hilariously terrible.

Put away the flip flops and give that ratty jacket one last hurrah. How do we console ourselves?

Today is, of course, the Nationals’ Home Opener. Will Bryce bring the magic again? Can you afford tickets? And have you heard the news about Hard Times?  Cold cheese nachos no more?? Have fun!

Our very own Ghost nerd/all-around curmudgeon/unabashed Hamilton fan Tim Krepp is hosting a History Trivia Night at Congressional Cemetery at 6:30pm. The first come first served registration is $5 per person. Bring your friends! Each team may have up to 6 people. ! On-site admission will be based on availability. There will be a cash bar with beer and wine for sale for $5. Reserve your spot HERE.

Friday nights are ART Nights at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop. This week features the popular Paint ‘N Sip and Grooving with Gigi. At Paint N Sip receive step-by-step instruction from CHAW teaching artists Ellen Cornett and Sheppard Bear while enjoying snacks and wine. $30 includes all materials and refreshments. Grooving With Gigi is CHAW’s burlesque workshop. There is no dance experience needed and no nudity involved. The class is part lecture and part movement. Guests will not only perform beginner burlesque dance moves but also learn about the history of burlesque and the dancers who still perform the art to this day. Classes begin at 6:30.  Call CHAW at (202) 547-6839 to register.

Saturday is the monthly book sale at the Southeast Library at The Southeast Library is at 403 7th St. SE. The sale begins around 10:00 am and ends just before 3 pm. Expect both fiction and non-fiction as well as a good supply of children’s books.

If you are despondent about your kid’s lottery results and have some means to pay for school you can follow in the footsteps of many Hill kids and check out Burgundy Farms Country Day School‘s open house. The Pre-K class is hosting an open house this weekend  from 10 am to 11:30am.

Urban Arias returns to the Atlas Performing Arts Center with two one-acts. Part one is JOSEPHINE, a one-world premier about the renowned  Josephine Baker in Paris during the 1930s. Melissa Wimbish. Act two is AFTER LIFE which examines the question, what responsibility does a famous artist have in times of great turmoil? The opera imagines Gertrude Stein and Pablo Picasso, both dead, arguing with each other in the afterlife about their actions during World War II.The performance begins at 8pm and tickets are  $27 – $29.50. Sunday the Folger Consort presents the final performance of Shakespeare and Purcell: Music of the Fairy Queen and Other Works. What better way to spend a Sunday than listening to 300-year-old tunes? In 1692, Henry Purcell wrote The Fairy Queen, music for the Restoration version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, but it has proved to be enormously appealing to audiences ever since its rediscovery in 1901. The performance begins at 2pm and tickets are available here.
