  • MPD Searching for Armed Carjacking Suspects

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force are asking for the community’s assistance in identifying two suspects in two Northeast carjackings.
– On Friday, April 12, 2024, at 8:50 p.m., the suspects were passengers in the victim’s rideshare vehicle in the 600 block of 9th Street, Northeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim exit the vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s vehicle has been recovered. CCN: 24055066
– On Saturday, April 13, 2024, at approximately 9:06 p.m., the suspects were passengers in the victim’s rideshare vehicle in the 100 block of 33rd Street, Northeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim exit the vehicle. The victim was able to flee the scene in his vehicle. CCN: 24055646

  • MPD Searching for Armed Carjacking Suspects

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District are asking for the community’s assistance in identifying suspects in a Northeast carjacking.
On Thursday, April 12, 2024, at 8:50 p.m., the suspects were passengers in the victim’s rideshare vehicle in the 600 block of 9th Street, Northeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim exit the vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s vehicle has been recovered.

  • MPD Searching for Armed Robbery Suspect

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District are seeking the community’s help to locate an armed robbery suspect in Southeast.
On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at approximately 11:35 p.m., the suspect approached the victim, with a handgun in the 1100 block of C Street, Southeast. The suspect demanded the victim’s phone and wallet. The victim complied, and the suspect took the property and fled.

  • MPD Seeks Suspects in Navy Yard Retail Theft

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District are asking for the community’s assistance to identify suspects who stole from a CVS and assaulted a security guard in the 1100 block of New Jersey Avenue, Southeast.
On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at approximately 8:45 p.m., the suspects were inside a CVS and took items without paying. When they were confronted by a security guard one of the suspects threw a bottle, missing the security guard.
The suspects were captured by surveillance cameras and can be seen in the photos above.

  • MPD Arrests Teen in Navy Yard Retail Theft, Search for Additional Suspects Ongoing

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District Detectives Unit announce the arrest of a suspect involved in a retail theft offense.
On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a group of suspects entered a CVS in the 1100 block of New Jersey Avenue, Southeast, and took items without paying. When they were confronted by a security guard one of the suspects threw a bottle, missing the security guard.
On April 20, 2024, as a result of the detectives’ investigation, a 16-year-old male of Southeast, was arrested and charged with Burglary Two, Theft and Assault on a Police Officer.

  • MPD Makes Quick Arrest in Navy Yard Threats Offense

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest in a Felony Threats offense that occurred near the intersection of 4th and Tingey Streets SE.
On Saturday, April 20, 2024, at approximately 11:37 a.m., the victim was walking near the listed location when the suspect approached her and made threats while holding a knife. Witnesses intervened and the suspect fled the scene. The victim was not injured.
First District officers responded and searched the area for the suspect. A short time later, the suspect was located and placed under arrest.
As a result of the detectives’ investigation, 47-year-old Robert Cohn, of Southeast, DC, was charged with Felony Threats.

    I dont know if things just get missed due to a publishing deadline, but i’m surprised to not see mention of the stabbing in front of the police station at 5th and E SE on April 14th? i saw it on the AlertDC listserv but it didnt appear in any of these MPD Blotter posts.
