Washington City Paper Margarita Wars tonight at Yards Park

Rainy start to the holiday weekend but we have hope for some later later. Are you planning on heading out of town? I hope you left already. For the rest of us now may the time to finally get that table at Rose’s Luxury…

Tonight drink beer and chat up Ophelia at Brews and Banter, a pre-performance reception at the Folger. Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is currently running in the library’s theatre. The story takes a look at Hamlet from the eyes of some minor characters, the Dane’s bros brought in from university to help figure out what the deal is with the moody Prince. The play is a smart, funny and just so slightly off take on one of the Bard’s most famous plays. The reception begins at 6:30 and is $15. The show runs through June 21st and tickets are available here.

Are you curious about polyamory? Swinging? Or just want to maybe learn about how open marriage works? Learn how these complicated relationships work tonight. Freed Bodyworks hosts Jessica Van Dyke’s Non-monoga wha?? workshop at 7pm. Van Dyke has been teaching all types of relationship workshops so don’t be shy. She used to host them at the Atlas and they always got a good turnout. Go Capitol Hill! The workshop costs $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Learn more and get tickets here.

Yards Park hosts the Washington City Paper’s Margarita Wars this evening at 6:30pm. 18 mixologists from around the area will compete to be the top tequila toque. Tickets are $25 and include unlimited margarita tastings and food is available for purchase. Your vote counts so be sure to try them all. Just make sure you eat something. Get your tickets here.

Saturday is your last chance to see Taffety Punk’s version of the “Bad Quarto” of Hamlet at CHAW.

Sunday afternoon practice yoga at Maketto. Steve Abate from Love Supreme Yoga offers a free class from 4pm to 5pm.

Tuesday local historian Garret Peck will talk about his book Walt Whitman in DC at Congressional Cemetery. Whitman’s boyfriend Peter Doyle is buried there as are other FOWs.  The lecture begins at 7pm and there will be a wine and cheese reception following.
