We’ve made on our hands and knees to something that looks like a weekend– or maybe just the end of our wits? No matter. There are flowers in bloom and few mosquitoes and there is joy and love to be found.

A very special shoutout to all the mothers, (s)mother(er)s, mother figures, alma maters, mamacitas, pet mommies and spicy mamas out there. Don’t forget to take time for yourself and have brunch somewhere lovely (yes, home counts).

First things first: Do you love our local restaurants? I know you have a favorite or ten, so make sure you take a break from cooking and patronize the ones you love best, so they can keep going. These times are tough and every little bit helps.

The Capitol Hill Restoration Society is holding their annual House and Garden Tour THIS WEEKEND, May 10 and 11. This is a great chance to peek into some gorgeous Hill homes and gardens and meet neighbors. Learn more and get your tickets here.

If it’s the Second Saturday of the month, you know Capitol Hill Books is hosting their monthly wine and cheese plus discount extravaganza. Second Saturday goes from 5-7:30 p.m. and the 10% discount in-store goes through 8 p.m.

Don’t forget the Library of Congress has Live! at the Library events every Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Enjoy something different each week against an incredible and historic background. You must have a pass to enter but all events are free. More info and RSVP here.

So many yoga classes are really expensive, which is why you gotta take advantage of the freebies. District Flow Yoga has a free Vinyasa class at Eastern Market Metro Park. Bring your own mat, towel and water (and hand sanitizer?) and enjoy 60 minutes of yoga. More info here.

The Saturday Rail Market at Union Station is happening this Saturday and future Saturdays, so put it on the calendar. Enjoy vintage finds and all sorts of different vendors. More information here.

Twelfth Night starts at the Folger this Tuesday, May 13. The beloved play about twins, mistaken identity, a shipwreck and happy endings is a fun one for the whole family (unless you’re four years old and under). For tickets and other events at the Folger, click here.

Love book talks? Then you need to check out East City Books’ events! On Wednesday, May 14, they will host a hybrid event with Alanna Bennet, author of The Education of Kia Greer, her debut novel. For more information, tickets, tickets with book and more, click here.

Want to be a tourist in our neighborhood? Barracks Row Main Street has a monthly walking tour on Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sign up here.

In case you missed this volunteer opportunity, you can show up again at Stanton Park this Saturday, 10 am, and work with Revive Stanton Park!

Ongoing: Our friends at Washington Gardener Magazine have a great article on where to go see azaleas around the area. Stay local or explore a new garden!

Sponsored: We were approached to tell you, our readers, about this beautiful house on 7th Street NE, right off H Street NE. Check out this reel about the house and check out the open house on Saturday, May 10, 1-3 pm!

Are you an absolute couch potato on weekends? My people! Here are a fun couple of links to enjoy in your pajamas:
ALL (and I do mean all) the outfits from the Met Gala on Monday.
This very cute artistic personality test from Adobe.
Listen to this absolutely beautiful album by Sabrina Song on Spotify.
