March is here. So far its entrance is not all that leonine, though maybe tomorrow things will get roaring…

How shall you celebrate the end of another February?

Tonight, grab some friends and head to Gordon Biersch for Trivia night à la Family Feud.

Friday night is a Pay-What-You-Can preview of Taffety Punk’s Mom Baby God written and performed by Madeline Joey Rose at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop. The show takes place in 2020 and the story is about anti-choice teenagers who live on Instagram. Tickets are available here.

Gallery O/H hosts the opening of artist Rodney “BUCK!” Herring’s  Divide et Impera: Deserve’s Got Nothing To Do With It. Herring is a self-described “multifaceted creative malcontent, whose work explored varied layers of the human experience.” The event begins at 7pm, is free and open to all.

Saturday, spend the day at the Atlas Performing Arts Center taking in the many free and ticketed performances during the INTERSECTIONS Festival. You can begin early with family friendly performances such as Culture Queen at 10am, then buy tickets to see Street Light Circus where performers showcase their mad skills aerial acrobatics, foot juggling and hand balancing! The show uses audio recordings, live storytelling, projected images and live circus performances to demonstrate the vibrant legacy of the circus. Maybe send the kids home with a sitter and get tickets for New Millenium Howard Players performance of The Intruders which explores gentrification. A full list of performances can be found here.

Sunday morning at 9 a.m. at the H Street Whole Foods Whole Foods, Athleta and Think Local DC sponsor a panel of women entrepreneurs and a Q&A session with prominent Washington DC female founders, investors, launchers, and scalers.

Jan’s Tutoring House hosts its annual pre-Oscar red carpet reception honoring volunteers and former program participants. Tommy Wells, Director of DC’s Department of Energy & Environment, will be the Master of Ceremonies. Wells has been a long-time supporter of Jan’s Tutoring House and is a former tutor and board chair.The event is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hill Center. Get your tickets here.

Monday, the Washington Bach Consort begins a noon concert series at St. Peter’s, 313 2nd Street SE. The Cantata Series will continue the Bach Consort’s mission of introducing and making accessible the music of J.S. Bach to audiences who may not have prior familiarity with his work or with classical music in general. For nearly three decades, Washington Bach Consort has presented the free Noontime Cantata Series in downtown DC at the Church of the Epiphany. This new pilot venture, Capitol Cantatas, marks the first time that the Consort will offer the series at another location, fulfilling the long-time dream of Washington Bach Consort Founder, the late Dr. J Reilly Lewis. The concerts are free and open to all.
