To Do: Weekend of June 22nd -25th

Oh Summer. So nice to see you. Even if that means we need to put up with seasonally specific hashtags such as #roseallday and #summertimeshine.

What will your insta look like this weekend?

Tonight, the American Roots series at the Hill Center presents Michaela Anne, a young honky-tonk singer who has been called the female Hank Williams. The concert is $20 and it begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are here.

The Arboretum is sponsoring a Thursday evening concert series this summer. Tonight’s event features IntiLuna a Latin fusion band and features Mister G, a Latin Grammy award winning children’s artist. The free concert kicks off #PollinatorWeek and begins at 7 p.m. Enter through the R Street entrance. No dogs and no booze. (Register through Friends of the National Arboretum here.)

Friday, Moose Jaw performs at the Yards Park for the free summer concert series beginning at 6:30 p.m.

It is Game of Thrones night at Nats Park. The first 20,000 fans in the park get special GoT/Nationals-themed shirts and everyone has an opportunity to check out the Iron Throne without having to get past the Lannisters.

Saturday is the Oneness Yoga Festival at Yards Park. The event features yoga classes, workshops on mindfulness practices, music and dancing, children’s yoga, delicious vegan food, and vendors selling yoga and wellness themed gear. The event runs from 12pm to 8pm and some aspects are free while there is fee for certain classes and workshops.

Sunday is the Summer Reading kick-off block party at the Northeast Library, 330 7th St NE, from 1 to 4 p.m. The event will feature face-painting, balloon animals, snacks, games and musical performances. All are welcome.
