And here we are at the weekend already. Hooray for the short week!

Tonight the Great Noise Ensemble returns to the Atlas Performing Arts Center with a concert of works by two New Music giants: Arvo Partt and Pulitzer Prize winner John Luther Adams. The concert begins at 8pm and tickets are $20-$32. More information and tickets are available here.

Friday night and Saturday afternoon, Grammy nominee and hip hop artist Christylez Bacon brings his Washington Sound Museum series to the Atlas. The first collaboration in the series is with Hindustani violinist Nistha Raj. Expect a cross cultural musical mash up with tea reception pre show followed by a dance lesson. Friday night the tea begins at 7pm and the concert is at 8pm. Saturday the fun starts at 2pm. Tickets are $25 and are available here.

Saturday night head to the Capitol Lounge for a pop up by the Southern food entity known as Mason Dixon. From 5pm to 11pm they are dishing out Nashville Hot Chicken, Chicken ‘n Waffles, Smoked Fried Pork Chop, and a Grilled Pimento Cheese while Atlas Brew takes over the taps. There is no need to make a reservation but give them a heads up to let them know you are coming at  reservations[at]maisondixondc.com.

At the Corner Store singer-songwriter Ana Egge performs at 7pm. Described as “Gillian Welch figure with a rocker attitude” who once prompted Lucinda Williams to call her “the Nina Simone of folk”. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. More information can be found here.

Sunday you can binge watch the entire Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy series at the Hill Center. The event begins at 1pm and is free. Reserve your space here.
