Hey there, neighbors! Need to cull your wardrobe and make space for winter? Gotta purge summer essentials? Want to sell house plants because your green thumb cannot be stopped? Need to bake and sell something delicious and donate your proceeds to fight fascism? Whatever you need to do to connect with neighbors and your community, do it with us through HAUL-O-WEEN: THE SPOOKENING!!!

Since 2025, neighbor Stacee Hampson and I have been organizing these giant yard sales on the Hill where we all come together on a humongous map and we make a day of it. Ready to join? Click the link to the form HERE.

Not sure you’re ready to join? Here are some quick FAQs:

  • 🏡 This fall, Haul-o- Ween will happen Saturday, October 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. all over Capitol Hill, DC. Yes, if you live in Hill East, Old City, NoMa, Navy Yard, etc. you can TOTALLY JOIN! The loosey-goosey rule here is that if you’re in the area bound by North/South Capitol Street, the Anacostia River and Florida Avenue, you’re in! Then again– if you are beyond that area and want to be on the map, hey, WHY NOT? Just know that we won’t be able to send as much traffic your way, but we know you’re a neighbor in spirit.
  • 📍As with iterations past, we will have a big map hosted on Padlet, which you can access on desktop and your phone. We will have additional signage with the help of a mini grant from the Capitol Hill Community Foundation.
  • 🩺 Our dear friend Alli McGill will also be holding a special Ward 6 Health Fair at Eastern Market Metro Plaza that day– more details on that event soon!
  • 🫠 Signed up in the past but didn’t get much traffic? Afraid you won’t get a lot of people coming through? Consider joining a friend or neighbor who lives closer to walking paths (i.e. closer to the Metro, along East Capitol Street, close to Lincoln Park/Stanton Park, etc.). Also, make sure you tell friends and neighbors you’re joining the sale!
  • 💒 Don’t have a yard? Thanks to the enormous generosity of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, we are able to set up inside their courtyard, with a hard stop at 1 p.m.

Ready to sign up for Haul-o-Ween? Click THIS LINK TO OUR GOOGLE FORM and follow the instructions.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ADD YOUR ADDRESS TO THE MAP BY OCTOBER 10, 2026. ****THE FORM WILL CLOSE ON OCTOBER 10, 2026!****

Not ready to sell? Then you want to shop, shop, shop! This is what you need to know: We’ll release the map to the public the week of October 3, 2026 so you can plan ahead! And this year, Padlet willing, we will have colors that actually *mean* something. It’ll be glorious!
