Tonight gather with other sad music fans to celebrate the life of the late artist David Bowie. Rock and Roll Hotel is hosting a free all-Bowie fest from 8pm to 12am. The evening will be deejayed by Ed The Metaphysical. 21 and over. (Do the kids like Bowie? The few millennials in my social media world did not partake in the online lamentations…)
Pitch Perfect fans: Get excited! Friday Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) hosts Whim ‘n Rhythm, Yale’s all-female answer to the legendary all-dude Whiffenpoofs. These days campuses are flooded with a cappella groups (thanks Anna Kendrick!) but Yale has a decades long tradition of being pitch-pipe friendly. The concert begins at 7:30 and tickets are $10; $5 for children. More information can be found here.
Saturday, learn to grow plants indoors in tiny containers! Sill Life instructor Holly Simmons hosts a terrarium class at Union Market from 2pm to 3pm. The cost is $50 which includes all materials including a tiny gold dinosaur!
Sunday, brush up on your life saving skills with infant and child CPR class at the Hill Center. The class will be taught by Pediatric Intensive Care nurse, Laura. You can expect to learn Infant and Child CPR, AED and what to do if a child or infant is choking. The two hour class costs $65 and begins at 1pm. more information can be found here.
