HILL-BOUND OR BUST

DC’s take on the Montréal Nuit Blanche is called Art All Night and this year it’ll happen all over the District THIS FRIDAY, September 12. Click here to learn more and plan your evening around Eastern Market Main Street, Barracks Row Main Street, H Street and UNION STATION activations– new this year! By the way, the Royal Sonesta close to Union Station will also have artist Lea Barcus making whimsical miniature castles, 7-10 p.m.

The Saturday Rail Market at Union Station is happening this Saturday and future Saturdays, so put it on the calendar. Enjoy vintage finds and all sorts of different vendors. More information here. But, just so you know, it looks as though Union Station won’t be allowing minors into the station, so perhaps skip this one and support the vendors elsewhere.

This dismal geopolitical climate calls for Antigone, one of the plays my jaded 17-year old self became obsessed with in high school. Everything is terrible, there is not enough honor or compassion and everyone dies! Good thing Songs of the Goat at the Atlas is. starting a run of the play. Dodi and Diana kicks off the 25-26 season at Mosaic Theater Company. If you’ve never seen the vibrant, forward-thinking and fearless plays that Mosaic chooses season after season, you are seriously missing out. Some of the best theater in DC is right on H Street. Learn more here.

And at the far end of the Hill, enjoy the RFK Flea Market every Saturday, weather permitting, starting at 7 a.m. and wrapping up at 3 p.m. For more info, click here.

OFF-HILL

Some people may think that all DC is good for is crime. The rest of us know it’s a vibrant, colorful city filled with history and fun. One of the signature fun events of the early fall is Events DC’s Walking Town! Walk and learn from tour guides all about this incredible city and the nation’s history. Click here to submit a tour or volunteeer. Walking Town goes from September 13-20, 2025 and is *~F R E E~* so click here to sign up for this year’s tours!

The newest destination with a potentially confusing name that has the activations you want is the Bridge District (as opposed to District Bridges, which is in Northwest). PLAN AHEAD

Take in the sights around the Hill and be part of a fun Bar Crawl, organized by our friends at Union Pub, The Eastern and Barrel! The Crawl will take place every Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer, with brunch seatings at Barrel starting at 11 a.m. After brunch, explore the Hill and visit The Eastern and Union Pub at your own pace! For more info and to get your tickets, click here.

Don’t forget the Library of Congress has Live! at the Library events every Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Enjoy something different each week against an incredible and historic background. You must have a pass to enter but all events are free. More info and RSVP here.

At Congressional Cemetery, there is a new take on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Mary Shelley’s Monsters will take place inside the chapel, starting September 18 and running through October 12, 2025. Tickets here.
