New Hill East:

Two Saturday Hill East events to add to your calendar!

Just in case you need reminding –and if you’re anything like me, you do– there are two great events taking place in Hill East and you’re very, very invited. We were, in turn, reminded by ANC 6A04 commissioner Amber Gove– thank you, Amber! Both of them have very stylish graphics:

Monthly Capitol Hill Clean-Up: Pick up bags and gloves and 7-Eleven, Fulcrum Properties Group, Chick-Fil-A and Wine and Butter starting at 9 a.m. Pick up bags and gloves at Trusty’s, Friends of Kingman Park and Atlas Vet starting at 10 a.m. Once you’re geared up, pick up litter all around the neighborhood. Return your filled bags to any of the businesses above. Fulcrum will have refreshments starting at 10 a.m., while Chick-Fil-A will have complimentary sandwiches for the volunteers who pick up bags at their location.

Maury Elementary’s Annual Yard Sale AND Bake Sale: Whether you call them garage sales, rummage sales, yard sales or whatever other quaint regional name you use, it is inarguable that elementary school sales are incredible. You can score loads of great items knowing your money is going to a good cause. Maury’s sale starts at 9 a.m. and goes through 1 p.m. After 12 noon, you can fill a bag for $20, which is very much a steal. Make sure you check out the couture corner!

Amber adds, “and come see the amazing architecture and art at Maury Elementary. Volunteers (including me!) will be leading tours all morning. Enter through the playground (13th St.)”
