Learn how to pair wine with foods at a workshop at DCanter Wine Boutique. P”airing wine and food starts off easily enough – whites with fish and reds with beef. But it starts getting complicated when you add sauces, spices, and herbs to the mix. We’ll walk you through the basics, including how your wine pairing is affected by cooking methods, dominant & secondary flavors, and food texture. We will also examine how to pair wines with traditional flavor profiles, such as French, Italian, and Asian cuisines. You will leave the class with a better understanding of how wines influence taste sensations, enhance, and even detract from different foods.” The cost is $40 and you can sign up here.

Practice your down dog with your favorite pooch at Puppy Love Yoga with VIDA Fitness in Yards Park at 5pm. Grab your mat and puppy and meet us on the SE waterfront for a sunset vinyasa yoga class. You supply the puppies, we’ll supply the treats, games, and dog ice cream! Non puppy owners also welcome! (I wonder if this will help my dog learn that a yoga mat is not an invitation to curl up under me or to lick my face…)
