Ahhh. Sweet Spring! Enjoy it while it lasts!

Besides gazing upon tulips and blossoms what else will we be doing this weekend?

Tonight at 8pm The Welders are back at the Atlas with The Carolina Layaway Grail, an original tale of a young woman’s quest to find her grandfather’s globe full of the past. Tickets are available here.

Friday Boogie Babes will host another Happy Hour at Union Market. Bring the kiddos over for a special Uno, Dos, Tres Andres show at 4:30. The concert is part of the pop up retail event Thread  which will be going on all weekend.

It is also is Opening Day at Nats Park! What are you most excited about? Me, I’m looking forward to some of the new food vendors and the local brews. Oh, and right the baseball. Go Nats!

Saturday at the Arboretum is hosting a tree climbing event hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (“Promoting Safety and Science in Tree Care”). Events and activities will be happening from 9am-3pm. The event is free and open to the public.  Read more about it here.

Camille A. Brown and Dancers are in town at the Atlas with Mr. Tol E. RAncE, a piece inspired by the Spike Lee film, Bamboozled (2002) that explores the sustained racial archetypes of black performers while celebrating their tenacity and perseverance. The Fridge has two openings Saturday night both beginning at 7pm. Dance of the Soramimi: Stephanie Williams & Radio Sebastian and The Art Of Storytelling: Carlos FOES Aguilar. Learn about both here.

Gallery O/H is hosting Snake Oil, Holy Water, and Sweet Tea part concert, part art-show and part side-show with some performers from the late Palace of Wonders they promise “a little art. alittle music, a little beer and a whole lotta fun.” Event begins at 7pm and tickets are $20 and are available here.

Sunday say Happy Birthday to the Bard, he’s 450 this year. From noon until 6 there will be music, workshops, juggling, jesters and Queen Elizabeth will cut the cake for Will at 4pm.
