The Set List:

The Set List with DC Music Live: August 18-31, 2021

It’s another edition of the Set List, your every-other-Wednesday list of upcoming shows on and off the Hill, reviews of past shows, and more. But first, the BIG music scene news from the last week was that most venues in DC have begun implementing additional health checks before show admittance — and DC Music Live has you covered. In addition to masking up for your next show, check the app to keep up to date with which shows will require proof of vaccination.

Last Weekend

Memphis based band Southern Avenue opened up the night for the concert with high energy and soulful vocals. “It was their last concert with Jason Mraz’s band and it was absolutely electrifying,” remarked American University student Lucie Waller on IG. Headliner Jason Mraz and his band of singers, guitarists, drummers, and brass instruments hit the stage to a warmed up crowd, playing new songs like “Look for the Good” from his latest studio album by the same name to old classics, “I’m Yours” and “The Remedy.” Waller and her roommate managed to find a spot by the front. “It was amazing, the closest I’d been to the front in any concert!” For Waller, this night also marked a personal return to live music. “First concert in three years and the wait was so worth it! What a blast with Mraz, his incredible band, and a wonderful audience sharing a beautiful night of music.”

About the Set List
The Set List is written by NG (Naomi-Grace) Panlaqui, one half of the developer couple behind DC Music Live, where you can find aggregated music shows happening near you by neighborhood, venue, or metro line. We’re partnering with The Hill Is Home to provide upcoming shows on and off the Hill, show reviews, and more

Supporting and promoting the venues and artists that bring us live music in our beloved city has become of great importance, especially as we emerge from the pandemic. If you attend a show, take a picture and give us a shout! #DCMusicLive
