Building community:

Literary Hill Bookfest

It’s happening! For the first time since 2019, all your favorite Hill-based authors will be gathering in Eastern Market’s North Hall to present their work to you. And there’s lots that has happened since the last time this was the case.

It will all be happening this Sunday, May 1, from 11 to 3.

Forty plus authors, with works ranging from Children’s Literature to Poetry, will be there – and there will even be five different author panels to talk about everything from podcasting to tourguiding. Yes, there will be a whole panel devoted to tour guides, including friends of the blog Rebecca Grawl (that’s her, above) and Kaitlin Calogera. To ensure that this does not get too out of hand, the panel will be moderated by none other than Tim Krepp.

There will also be lots of children’s events, so bring the kids. While some of these are the traditional readings, there will also be a kid’s activity based on the accomplishments of Pauli Murray, who blazed a legal trail.

So come on out, bring your friends, discover some new authors, buy some books and get them signed. It will give you lots to read throughout the coming year.

More information at their website here and you can follow them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as well.
