- Arrest Made in a Homicide: 400 Block of 2nd Street, Northwest
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made in reference to a homicide that occurred on Friday, May 14, 2021, in the 400 block of 2nd Street, Northwest.
At approximately 9:29 pm, members of the First District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 27 year-old Leonard Turner, of Southeast, DC.
On Monday, August 16, 2021, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested 28 year-old William Davenport, of Northeast, DC. He has been charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.
- Arrests Made in an Armed Carjacking (Gun) Offense: 1200 Block of 16th Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District announced an arrest has been made in an Armed Carjacking (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, August 13, 2021, in the 1200 block of 16th Street, Northeast.
At approximately 8:05 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects brandished handguns and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied. The suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle. The suspects were later apprehended by officers while they were still occupying the victim’s vehicle. Two handguns were recovered.
On Friday, August 13, 2021, 18 year-old Jahlil Perry, of District Heights, MD, and 19 year-old Cordell Green, of Laurel, MD, were arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun) and Carrying a Pistol without a License.
- Suspects and Vehicle Sought in an Armed Robbery (Gun) Offense: 1100 Block of Florida Avenue, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District seek the public’s assistance in identifying suspects and a vehicle in reference to an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, August 7, 2021, in the 1100 block of Florida Avenue, Northeast.
At approximately 4:38 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun, struck the victim with the weapon and took the victim’s property. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.

- Arrests Made in Carjacking and Robbery Offenses in the First District
Armed Carjacking (Gun): On Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at approximately 3:04 pm, the suspects approached the victim in the 1400 block of A Street, Southeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. Responding officers located the vehicle and apprehended the suspects. A handgun was recovered. CCN: 21-112-901
On Wednesday, August 11, 2021, 21 year-old Jabarr Emerson, Jr., of Northwest, DC, 18 year-old Davon Williams, of Northwest, DC, and a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, were arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun). Additionally, Emerson and the 14 year-old juvenile male were charged with the following offenses:
Armed Carjacking (Gun): On Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at approximately 2:37 am, the suspects approached the victim, who was seated in their vehicle, in the 800 block of 3rd Street, Northeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. CCN: 21-104-077
Unarmed Carjacking: On Sunday, August 8, 2021, at approximately 7:15 pm, the suspect approached the victim in the 300 block of I Street, Northeast. The suspect forcibly took the victim’s vehicle then fled the scene. CCN: 21-111-354
- Arrest Made in a Burglary Two Offense: 200 Block of G Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to a Burglary Two offense that occurred on Saturday, August 7, 2021, in the 200 block of G Street, Northeast.
At approximately 2:10 am, the suspect gained entry to an establishment at the listed location. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
On Saturday, August 7, 2021, 33 year-old Kyle Dunbar, of Fairfax, VA, was arrested and charged with Burglary Two.
