Capitol Hill:

Ward 6 Day at The Lawn

Every year, the building museum turns their great hall into a large interactive artwork. This year, the theme was ‘Lawn’ and yesterday was the day for Ward 6 residents to see what it was all about. Here, councilmember Charles Allen and Senior Counsel Nicole Opkins greet their constituents.
The lawn did not simply stretch across the floor of the building, but was built on multiple levels, including this hillside. (RSP)
Seating areas were scattered throughout the installation, including a number of hammocks, that were particularly popular (RSP)
The fountain in the center of the hall was made part of the installation, as well (RSP)
To get to the very top, you had to climb through the scaffolding that held up with lawn. A very different way of seeing the building museum. (RSP)
