Happy Spring friends and neighbors! March is a long slog but we are seeing daffodils and there are busloads of middle schoolers everywhere, so hello spring!

Tonight, learn the fine art of wine tasting. Blind Wine Tasting at that. Close your eyes and sip. The resident sommelier at City Winery will coach you and your palate to describe four different varietals. The workshop is $30 and begins at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, you can drink more wine –Cabernet, specifically. Show off your newly acquired wine vocab at Clay and Cabernet at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop. $30 will get you a glass or two of wine and the opportunity to get a chance to play with clay. Call (202) 547-6839 to register.

Celebrate nearly a decade of East City Arts, a visual arts blog focusing on underrepresented artists in the area. The blog has grown and is hosting a party at The Corner Store to celebrate the launch of an anthology called
CONFLUENCE: Two Rivers One City. The party begins at 6:30 p.m.. Email founder Phil Hutinet to RSVP.

Saturday at the Atlas, jazz legend Carla Bley performs as part of the annual Washington Women in Jazz Festival. Known as a radical composer, the 82 year old Bley will be making her first DC performance with her trio. The performance begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $20-$25.

Singer-songwriter John Westmoreland performs at The Corner Store at 7 p.m. Drawing on influences ranging from Americana to jazz and rock, Westmoreland has earned a following worldwide. Tickets are $20.

Sunday enjoy a free performance at Pearl Street Warehouse. Saxophonist Elijah Balbed and drummer Isabelle De Leon perform as part of the Southwest Soul Series. The show beings at 7 p.m. and they would love it if you could let them know you are coming.
