Time to ring 2018!

Hey there! I am still enjoying the relative peace and quiet of this week— my favorite of the year. The severe cold we are experiencing only encourages my shameless hunkering, binging and baking tendencies. While I have not yet embraced the adult onesie that my teens and and twenty-something sister-in-law have been sporting, I have embraced comfy and really don’t want to let it go. But, should you be looking for reasons wear pants and get out of the house, there are a few options.

Many of our local organizations are closed this week so performances and classes are hard to come by. The two productions at the Atlas, Step Afrika!s Magical, Musical Holiday Step Show and Snow Day which I mentioned last week are still running and are a great incentive to put on shoes.

Have you checked out the light display at Yards Park? Light Yards runs every evening and a quick spin to ooh and ahh before ducking back indoors will make you grateful for the gift of central heating.

NYE is Sunday and everyone has their own way of ringing in yet another flip of the calendar. Many restaurants, like Beuchert’s Saloon are offering special menus. Rock and Roll Hotel throws a giant bash every year. (I am so old that even reading about it makes me tired.) Or perhaps you want to observe the passing of time at one of our local yoga studios? Realignment Studio is offering a New Year’s Eve class which ends with a non-alcoholic toast and hugs.

However you choose to celebrate let us all agree to get 2017 behind us and hope for the best in 2018.
