If you love the historic character of our neighborhood and want to help preserve it and protect it from getting razed or becoming an ugly pop-up (more on that in an upcoming post), help the DC Preservation League identify vacant and abandoned properties in your neighborhood. Losing a property to “Demolition by Neglect” makes us all complicit in destroying the historic character of the city.  You can follow this link, which will take you to a survey.* You can fill it out anonymously if you prefer it.

The folks over at the DC Preservation League have been working tirelessly since the ’70s to insure that the city protects its historical gems and landmarks. Lend them a hand and help them keep doing this important work, because if you’ve ever been to a city with no zoning laws, you know how ugly things can get.

(Hat-tip to reader Lisa!)

* Where we will not argue about the correct pronunciation of “historic.”
