Even when on vacation I can’t seem to go all that long without checking for breaking news on Google Reader, Facebook and Twitter. Very sad, I know, but with an iPhone it’s hard to disconnect. So this afternoon, while resting my feet from a long day of exploring some small towns in the Shenandoah, I noticed a post on We Love DC about a rumor that the Real World cast would be going to Hawk & Dove tonight.
My initial reaction was disappointment that I was missing the action right up the street from my house. Then I quickly remembered that I have little interest in being on TV or being around the hype (good and bad) surrounding the reality tv shows being filmed in DC. But my curiosity remained – was it a rumor or did they actually come to one of our neighborhood watering holes? And how lame was the crowd that would gather around the scene?
A quick search on Twitter after returning from dinner has lead me to believe that it was all just a rumor (seems like the cast went to McFaddens instead, which I think is a better fit for them anyway).
Do you want the cast to explore the Hill community or would you rather they stay away? Do you think that the reality TV shows being filmed here will help or hurt people’s impression of our city?
Speaking for (the) McFadden’s, our spot seems a little more age appropriate for the RW gang. 🙂
