Screen Shot 2016-04-21 at 12.33.06 PMAre you a fan of gardens and especially, are you a fan of the United States National Arboretum? Then this post is totally for you because you need to go–RUN, DO NOT WALK– to the 26th Annual Garden Fair and Plant Sale.

The sale starts Friday April 29 (ARBOR DAY!) for members from 10-1pm, and for non-members starting at 1 and going through 4 pm. The sale  continues April 30 for the public, at 9 am and through 4 pm. You can see this year’s plant offerings at fona.org. In addition to all the great plants for sale, there usually hand out plant introductions as gifts for members, which I have successfully killed for several years running –I wish I were joking about that.

If you want to see maps or plan your day better, you should visit www.fona.org/gardenfair. You should also check out the Youth Garden’s Arbor Day Fest Friday April 29, 2016. For more information, go to their site: http://www.fona.org/events/arbor-day-fest-2016/

If you want to kill a special introduction plant all on your own, you should become a member! For more information on that, go to http://www.fona.org/join-or-renew/

The arboretum is a magical place, and they offer many interesting lectures and hikes year-round. For more information on visiting or planning, go to http://www.usna.usda.gov. (Caveat emptor, their site isn’t great. Thanks, USDA.)
