School Auctions: Capitol Hill Montessori’s Very Dangerous Idea

Screen Shot 2015-03-11 at 11.19.23 AMOh yes. I do mean dangerous.

I had to spend some time doing research and active exploration in the Capitol Hill Montessori auction site in order to write this post, you see. Maria Montessori would be so proud of me! I meant to just spend about five minutes perusing the many different kinds of auction items up for bid online through March 23rd, but then I fell in through a rabbit hole of possibility. I could whip myself into shape with a 3-month Results membership and then soothe my aching muscles with a massage from Healing Arts of Capitol Hill. I could go buy some furniture at IKEA and have a handyman come assemble it for me so I don’t go nuts. Or I could go for one of the “unique experiences” and have dinner with Councilmember David Grosso at HIS HOUSE! The coolest part of this online-only auction experience is that it has an eBay-like feature, the “buy it now” option. So you can just cut through the red tape/annoyance of seeing your item go to some other undeserving evil troll awesome person and just buy it yourself NOW.

The best part, as with all other school auctions, is that you can repeat over and over “IT’S FOR THE KIDS” and instantly assuage any guilt you may have over spending way too much money on really cool items.

WHEN: Ongoing, March 6-23, 2015

WHERE: Online by clicking on this link.

WHY: Repeat after me: “IT’S FOR THE KIDS.” Specifically, for the kids at Capitol Hill Montessori, but you get the idea.

HOW: In your pajamas or your chonies, because you bid from your computer! (Oooh, technology!)
