You still have time to RSVP to one of the most heartwarming events of the year: The 12th annual Brickie Awards! The fun, FREE event where members of the community are honored for their service above and beyond the call of duty will take place tonight at the former Busboys and Poets at City Vista location off Mount Vernon square, 450 K Street NW, starting at 6 p.m.
The Brickie Award categories include the following categories: Neighbor, Community Organization Award, Business, Public Service and Civic Pride. Councilmember Charles Allen just tweeted a sneak peek with the winners, and we couldn’t be more excited for all of them:
- Neighbor Award: Frances Slaughter
- Community Organization Award: Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District
- Business Award: Clean Decisions
- Public Service Award: Larry Handerhan
- Civic Pride Award: Arthur Capper Senior Apartments Community Response
So, will we see you at the Brickies tonight, so we can all raise a glass to all these wonderful people we’re lucky to call neighbors? I hope so!
