Meeting Wednesday to Address Hill East Crime

Following a shootout at 17th and Independence Avenue SE, in which several cars were damaged and one person was injured, there will be a neighborhood crime meeting on Wednesday, June 29th at 7pm at St. Coletta of Greater Washington (1900 Independence Avenue, SE).
MPD Chief Lanier and Doug Klein (DOJ) will be attending the meeting.  ANC 6B Commissioner Denise Krepp also invited representatives from WMATA and the DC Attorney General’s Office to attend.
The purpose of the meeting is gain more information from the police regarding the shooting at 17th and Independence St, SE, in addition to other violent crimes that have occurred in the area.
Krepp also invited DOJ, the DC Attorney General’s Office, and WMATA so that their representatives can share information regarding the prosecution of crimes that are occurring in the neighborhood.
The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.  Please share this information with your neighbors.
