I hope you’ve been able to relax and take a break this summer. My family and I had quiet beach time with lots of good food and lots of sleep. But now I’m back and there are some fun things happening this week!
First of all, friend of the blog Armand Lione will be holding his annual Garfield Park Native History Day on Saturday, August 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2nd and F Streets SE. Learn all about the people who walked their dogs around here before America was discovered and join a sidewalk celebration of native people. (Rain date, Sunday, August 16, 2026.)
