Hey, remember how I used to do news roundups and then I stopped? Well, I’m starting up again. Here are a few things you may have missed this week. Just a few, but worth your time!
If you live around Pennsylvania Avenue SE, close to Potomac Avenue metro, you may be aware that the intersection of Pennsylvania and Potomac Avenues is dangerous for everyone– especially for pedestrians. ANC 6B has been discussing the future of a project designed to tackle and improve this area. You can find more information about that project here and stay tuned for the February ANC 6B meeting here.

ICYMI, via our pal Eat DC, Acqua al 2 is making a comeback. (THIH on Instagram)
A man was arrested this past Monday after telling a police officer he wanted to surrender. Oh yeah: he had TWO Molotov cocktails in his pockets, as well as several knives. That’s a way to end Dry January with a bang, I suppose. (WaPo)
The Capitol Hill Restoration Society’s photo contest is back! You have until March 1 to submit and there is a new youth photography category. For more info and to enter, visit chrs.org
In case you missed it, Martin Austermuhle breaks down what may happen to DC’s rights under Republican control. He wrote this piece back in November, the day after the election, but it’s good to be clear-eyed about our rights. Forewarned is forearmed, friends. (The 51st)
700 6th Street SE is on the market and wowza. It’s a huge, gorgeous house and it doesn’t hurt that the photos are great and the décor is lovely and it has huge detached garage and 5000 square feet of space and, and, and. But no matter how big the manse may be, I would not want to be that close to the highway or right on Sixth, especially at that price ($3.8M?? You’ve got to be joking). Still, feast your eyes!
