- Suspects Arrested for an Assault in Southeast
The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of two suspects in a Navy Yard assault.
On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at approximately 9:52 p.m., the suspects approached the victim in the unit block of M Street, Southeast. The suspect then attacked the victim with a bottle. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Responding officers located the two suspects and placed them under arrest. 47-year-old Delvin Martin, and 57-year-old Kenny Watkins of Southeast, DC, were charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Bottle).
- MPD Investigating a Homicide in Southeast
The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a death which has been ruled a homicide which occurred in Southeast D.C.
On Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, at approximately 2:40pm, officers responded to the unit block of 18th Street Southeast for reports of an unconscious person. Officers discovered an adult male unconscious and not breathing in the hallway of a building at that location. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim was pronounced deceased.
The decedent was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. On January 3rd, an autopsy determined the victim’s cause of death was a gunshot wound, and their manner of death was ruled a homicide.
The decedent was identified as 48-year-old Eugene Jefferson, of Southeast, DC.

- MPD Searching for Southeast Theft Suspects
The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistances to identifying suspects involved in a theft of an establishment in Southeast.
On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast, for a report of a theft. Officers discovered that suspects had gained access to an establishment’s cash register, stole money, and then fled the scene.

- Critical Missing Person Cameron Wood
The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 13-year-old Cameron Wood, who was last seen in the 2000 block of C Street, NE, on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Cameron Wood is described as a black male, 5’7” in height, 130 pounds, with black hair & black eyes. His clothing description is unknown.


- MPD Seeking Suspect in Attempted Robbery in Northeast
The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in the search for a suspect in an attempted robbery in Northeast.
On November 26, 2024, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the victim reported that he was in the 600 block of H Street, Northeast, when two suspects approached him, grabbed him, and demanded his cell phone. One of the suspects struck the victim and the suspects then fled the scene on foot.
