- MPD Seeking Suspects in Burglary of Business

The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in locating suspects involved in a burglary of a business in Northeast.
On Sunday, October 13, 2024, at approximately 5:27 a.m., the suspects forcibly entered a business in the 1300 block of H Street, Northeast, and stole property from the inside before fleeing the scene.
The suspects were captured by a surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos above.
- MPD Searching for Burglary Spree Suspects


The Metropolitan Police Department is searching for suspects after a pattern of overnight burglaries.
On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, in the early morning hours, multiple establishments across the city were victim of a pattern burglary spree. In all the offenses, three suspects broke a front door or window, stole cash, and fled in a blue sedan.

- MPD Searching for Suspect in Robbery Offenses
The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect in robbery offenses.
Assault with Intent to Rob: On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at approximately 10:40 a.m., the suspect approached the victim in the 500 block of 1st Street, Southeast. The suspect assaulted the victim and attempted to take their property. The suspect then fled the scene. CCN: 24159934
Armed Robbery (Gun): On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at approximately 11:10 a.m., the suspect approached the victim, inside of a building, in the 1400 block of 4th Street, Southwest. The suspect brandished a handgun and took the victim’s property then fled the scene.

- MPD Searching for Stolen Dog in Southeast

The Metropolitan Police Department is searching for a dog that was stolen from a boat in Southeast.
On Friday, October 11th, 2024, at approximately 9:00pm, officers responded to the 100 block of Potomac Avenue, Southeast for reports of a theft. Once on scene, officers discovered that a boat had been broken into and a dog was taken.
The dog is a 3-month-old black Cane Corso with white on the paws and freshly “cropped and stitched” ears. The dog answers to the name “Pepper”. A photo of the dog can be seen below:
- MPD Investigating Southeast Sex Abuse Offense
The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in locating a suspect in a Third-Degree sexual abuse offense that occurred in Southeast.
On Saturday, October 19, 2024, at approximately 7:41 p.m., the suspect approached the victim while she was walking her dog in the 400 block of 11th Street, SE. The suspect made unwanted sexual contact with the victim before fleeing the scene.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20’s, with a thin build. The suspect was last seen wearing a sweatshirt, sweatpants (possibly hunter green), and a tight beanie cap.

- MPD Seeking Suspect in Navy Yard Theft and Assault
The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect involved in an assault during a theft in the Navy Yard area.
On Sunday, October 20, 2024, at approximately 1:28 p.m., the victim confronted the suspect who was attempting to steal items from an establishment in the 900 block of New Jersey Avenue, Southeast. The suspect assaulted the victim and fled with stolen merchandise. The victim was treated on scene.

- Stolen Dog Returned to Owner, MPD Continuing to Investigate Theft

A dog stolen off a boat in Southeast has been recovered and MPD detectives continue to search for the suspect in the dog’s theft.
On Friday, October 11th, 2024, at approximately 9:00pm, officers responded to the 100 block of Potomac Avenue, Southeast for reports of a theft. Once on scene, officers discovered that a boat had been broken into and a dog was taken.
Following the theft, MPD published images of “Pepper” a 3-month-old black Cane Corso. On Saturday, October 19th, 2024, a good Samaritan returned Pepper to his owner after purchasing the dog from an online ad prior to discovering the dog was stolen. Pepper is in good condition.
MPD members investigating this case met with Pepper and his owner. Their reunion is pictured below.
- Second Arrest Made in Southeast Shooting
The Metropolitan Police Department announces the second arrest of a suspect involved in a shooting that occurred in Southeast.
On July 24, 2024, at approximately 6:50 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Marion Barry Avenue, Southeast for the report of a traffic crash. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male shooting victim, inside of a vehicle, which had crashed into a retaining wall. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
On Thursday, October 17, 2024, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 21-year-old Donte Bennett of Suitland, MD was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Kill While Armed.
Previously, on August 28, 2024, as a result of detectives’ investigation, a 21-year-old male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Kill while Armed.
