- MPD Searching for Southeast Armed Carjacking Suspects
The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying the suspects involved in an armed carjacking in Southeast.
On July 19, 2024, at approximately 2:04 a.m., the victim was sitting in his car in the 1000 block of Half Street, Southeast. Several suspects approached. One of the suspects pointed a rifle at him and told him to get out of the vehicle. The victim complied with the demands and the suspects took the victim’s car.
Three of the suspects were captured by a surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos above.
- MPD Searching for Suspect who Assaulted a Police Officer
The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a man who assaulted a police officer in the Unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast.
On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at approximately 3:08 p.m., the suspect threw an object at an officer as MPD was assisting our law enforcement partners during demonstration activity. The object struck the officer. The suspect fled the scene.

- MPD Makes Arrest in Southeast Burglary
The Metropolitan Police Department arrested a man for a burglary in Southeast.
On Sunday, July 28, 2024, at approximately 4:10 a.m., a suspect entered a home through an open door in the 500 block of 14th Street, Southeast. Once inside, he approached a woman and demanded property from her. She complied. The suspect fled the scene.
On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, 55-year-old Antoine Jamal Gibson, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Burglary One.
- MPD Searching for Man in a Theft
The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a man who stole money from a victim in Southeast.
On Monday, June 3, 2024, at approximately 11:15 a.m., the suspect and the victim were inside a bank in the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. The victim placed $600 down in front of him when the suspect took the money and fled the scene.

- MPD Searching for Attempted Vehicle Theft Suspect in Northeast
The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying an attempted car thief.
On July 26, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the victim saw the suspect in the driver’s seat of her SUV in the 600 block of 2nd Street, Northeast. When she yelled at him to get out, he backed the victim’s vehicle into a parked vehicle before fleeing on foot.

- MPD Investigating Fatal Northeast Shooting
The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal Northeast shooting that left two people dead and two injured.
On Saturday morning at approximately 1:06 a.m., officers were near the unit block of M Street, Northeast, when they heard gunshots. They immediately responded and located four victims with gunshot wound injuries. Two men were pronounced dead at the scene. A man and a woman were transported to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The decedents were identified as 33-year-old Antonio Williams, of Capitol Heights, MD, and 18-year-old Terrell Osbourne Jr., of Northwest.
The suspects’ vehicle, described as possibly being a 2019 white Honda Accord, was captured by a surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos below:
- MPD Arrests Two Men for CVS Theft Offenses
The Metropolitan Police Department announces that two men have been arrested for CVS theft offenses that occurred in the District.
On Friday, August 2, 2024, at approximately 10:20 a.m., the suspects entered a CVS located in the 1100 block of New Jersey Avenue, Southeast. The suspects took property then fled the scene. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers.
On Friday, August 2, 2024, 26-year-old Anthony Dickey and 29-year-old Avon Thompson, both of no fixed address, were arrested and charged with Theft Two.
As a result of the detectives’ investigation, 26-year-old Anthony Dickey was additionally charged with the following offenses:
