- Arrest Made in a Robbery
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce the arrest of a 15-year-old male for robbery (Force and Violence).
On Sunday, January 7, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of First Street, Southeast for a robbery that took place at Garfield Park. The victim reported three suspects assaulted him and took his property. Responding officers were able to locate and arrest one of the suspects.
A 15-year-old male of Southeast, DC, was charged with Robbery (Force and Violence).
- MPD Searching for Sexual Abuse Suspect

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit are seeking to identify a suspect involved in a sexual abuse offense in Northeast DC.
On Sunday, December 31, 2023, at approximately 3:36 a.m., the suspect pushed the victim to the ground in the 700 block of 6th Street, Northeast. The suspect assaulted the victim with the intent to commit sexual abuse.
The suspect is described as a black male in his thirties. He is 5’10” in height and weighs 180-220 pounds. He has short hair and is clean shaven with a large mole on his face. He was last seen wearing dark clothing.
The suspect was captured by surveillance cameras and can be seen the photos above and in this video.
- Man Arrested for a Traffic Fatality: 11th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Unit announce an arrest has been made in a traffic fatality that occurred on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the intersection of 11th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast.
The preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 12:24 a.m., a 2005 Ford Focus was traveling northbound on 11th Street, Southeast and entered the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue with a green signal light. At the same time, a 2017 Mercedes C300 was traveling eastbound on Pennsylvania Avenue and entered the intersection of 11th Street, Southeast with a red signal light. The Mercedes struck the driver’s side of the Ford, causing a woman in the rear seat passenger on the driver’s side of the Ford to be ejected from the vehicle. The two occupants of the Mercedes fled the scene on foot. The DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The two other occupants in the Ford were treated for minor injuries and released from area hospitals.
The decedent has been identified as 19-year-old Madison Jones, of Northwest, DC.
On Thursday, January 11, 2024, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, charging him with Second Degree Murder while Armed, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 30-year-old Andre Johnson of Northwest, DC.
