  • French Bulldog Puppy ‘Hendrix’ Reunited with Owner

The Metropolitan Police Department has reunited stolen French Bulldog puppy ‘Hendrix’ with his owner after he was taken during an armed robbery.
On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at approximately 11 a.m., members of the Violent Crime Suppression Division, in coordination with detectives of the Fifth District, conducted an operation in the 1200 block of Morse Street NE and recovered Hendrix.
On Monday, November 27, 2023, Hendrix’s owner was contacted by an individual stating that they had Hendrix and would be willing to sell Hendrix back to them. Hendrix’s owner relayed this information to MPD.
The puppy was taken in an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday, November 26, 2023. As the victim entered her building, she was approached by a man with a taser who demanded her dog. The victim complied and the man entered a black Nissan with tinted windows and paper tags and fled eastbound on Monroe St Northeast.
At this time, no arrests have been made. The investigation is active and ongoing to determine how the adult female came into possession of the dog.
Detectives are still working to identify the robbery suspect, who is described as a black male, 5’5 in height, slim build, wearing a black ski mask, black coat, light denim jeans, and colorful shoes.

  • Man Arrested for Armed Carjacking in Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce a man has been arrested for an armed carjacking that occurred on Friday, November 24, 2023, in the 400 Block of H Street, Northeast.
At approximately 8:28 p.m., the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and took the victim’s moped. The suspect fled the scene with the moped.
The moped was equipped with GPS tracking. Responding officers were able to track the moped and located the suspect pushing it down the street.
25-year-old Damion Bullock, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun) and Carrying a Pistol Without a License.

  • MPD Officers Save Man’s Life After Shooting

Two Metropolitan Police Department officers were awarded lifesaving medals for quickly providing medical care to a shooting victim.
On May 20, 2023, at approximately 12:53 p.m., First District Officers Mustafa Ak and Don Marshall responded to the 1400 block of H Street, Northeast, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located a man with multiple gunshot wound injuries. Officer Ak applied a chest seal from his Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Kit and treated the other injuries. DC Fire and EMS arrived soon after and transported the victim to a local hospital.
The victim’s injuries were critical and life-threatening, but due to the officers’ quick action to provide life-saving care, the victim survived.
“Today, a man is alive thanks to the heroic actions of Officers Ak and Marshall,” said Chief Pamela A. Smith. “We are grateful for their continued commitment to our community.”
On Monday, November 27, 2023, Officers Ak and Marshall were awarded the Lifesaving Medal for their dedication to duty.

  • Ten People Arrested in Retail Theft Operation in the First District

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce that ten people have been arrested in a Retail Theft Operation that was conducted on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at multiple retail locations within the First District.1100 block of New Jersey Avenue, Southeast: CCN 23194494

-A 15-year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, was arrested for Theft II.
-20-year-old Dale Cody Adrian, of Northwest, was arrested for Theft II and Possession of a BB Gun on Public Space.
-25-year-old Mikhaila Bennett, of Northeast, was arrested for Theft II.
-30-year-old Antonio Smith, of Southeast, was arrested for Theft II and Failure to Appear.
-18-year-old Aaron Wilson, of Southeast, was arrested for Theft II.

100 block of 4th Street, Southwest: CCN 23194514
-24-year-old DeAngelo Epps, of Southeast, was arrested for Theft II.
-38-year-old Kareem Jenkins, of Northwest, was arrested for Theft II and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
-53-year-old Lonnie Wiggins, of no fixed address, was arrested for Theft II.
-22-year-old Najeem Sile, of Southeast, was arrested for Theft II.

This operation resulted in the recovery of a BB gun and amphetamines.

  • MPD Seeking to Identify NE Armed Carjacking Suspect

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects of an armed carjacking of a federal agent in the 100 block of 12th Street, Northeast.
On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at approximately 3:44 p.m., two suspects approached the victim, who was outside of their vehicle, two suspects carjacked the victim at gunpoint while the victim was getting out of the victim’s vehicle. The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle was found at 4:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of 15th Street, Southeast.

  • Man Arrested for Multiple Carjackings

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force have arrested a man for four carjackings and one unlawful entry of a motor vehicle that occurred in September, October, and November in the District.

-Armed Carjacking: Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at approximately 4:23 p.m., at the intersection of Kalorama Road and Columbia Road, Northwest. CCN 23159569.
-Armed Carjacking: Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at approximately 7:42 p.m., at the intersection of I Street and 18th Street, Northeast. CCN 23159711.
-Unarmed Carjacking: Thursday, September 28, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m., in the unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast. CCN 23159859.
-Armed Carjacking: Saturday, October 28, 2023, at approximately 9:46 p.m., in the unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast. CCN 23177722.
-Unlawful Entry of a Motor Vehicle: Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at approximately 11:27 a.m., in the 1200 block of Gallatin Street, Northeast. CCN 23194607.

On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, 32-year-old Ricardo Tylib Washington, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with the above offenses. He was additionally charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Resisting Arrest.

  • Man Arrested for First-Degree Child Sexual Abuse

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth and Family Services Division announce an arrest has been made in a First-Degree Child Sexual Abuse offense that occurred in the Unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast.
On Saturday, October 21, 2023, between approximately 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., the suspect engaged in sexual acts with the child victim, who had not yet reached the age of 18.
On Friday, December 1, 2023, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 28-year-old John’Ta Price, of Phoenix, AZ, was arrested and charged with First Degree Child Sexual Abuse.
