Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Sunday, April 2, 2023, in the 200 block of 14th Street, Southeast.
At approximately 7:31 pm, First District officers responded to the listed location for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot and stab wounds, and an adult female victim suffering from apparent stab wounds inside of a residence. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the adult female victim to an area hospital for treatment. After finding no signs consistent with life, the adult male victim was pronounced deceased and remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 36-year-old Orlando Galloway, of Southeast, DC.

On Monday, April 3, 2023, members of the First District arrested 39-year-old Julius Worthy of Southeast, DC. He was transported to the Homicide Branch where he was charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed and Assault with Intent to Kill.
- Suspect Sought in a Misdemeanor Sexual Abuse Offense: 8th Street and H Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in reference to a Misdemeanor Sexual Abuse offense that occurred on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the intersection of 8th Street and H Street, Northeast.
At approximately 9:09 am, the suspect engaged in unwanted sexual contact with the victim at the listed location. The suspect then fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a black male, last seen wearing a black beanie style hat, a blue hooded sweatshirt with a graphic on the front, gray or blue pants, and white sneakers. The suspect was captured by a surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos above.

CCN: 23-046-943; A Glock 43 9mm caliber handgun was recovered in the 2000 block of Benning Road, Northeast. The following people were arrested: 22-year-old DeJuan Blunt, of Northwest, DC, and 22-year-old Nakia Brown, of Capital Heights, MD, for Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Possession of Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, and Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol.
