  • Suspects Sought in an Armed Robbery (Gun) and Theft One (Stolen Auto) Offense: 700 Block of L Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating suspects in reference to an Armed Robbery (Gun) and Theft One (Stolen Auto) offense that occurred on Monday, January 10, 2022, in the 700 block of L Street, Northeast.
At approximately 2:46 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
The suspects were captured by a surveillance camera and can be seen in can be seen in the photos above and in this video.

  • Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) Offense: 1400 Block of A Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in the 1400 block of A Street, Southeast.
At approximately 3:30 pm, the suspect and victim were involved in an argument at the listed location. During the argument, the suspect brandished a handgun and pointed it in the direction of the victim. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers and the suspect’s handgun was recovered.
On Tuesday, January 25, 2022, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Carrying a Pistol Without a License.

  • Armed Robbery of an Establishment – 1100 Block of East Capitol Street SE

The First District is currently investigating an armed robbery of an establishment in the 1100 block of East Capitol Street SE that occurred on 1/28/22 at approximately 3:45pm. The victim reports that the suspect entered, produced a handgun and demanded money from the register. Taken was an unknown amount of US Currency. The suspect was described as a Black Male, long dreadlocks, wearing a black masks, black hoody and grey sweatpants.

  • Arrest Made in Display of Certain Emblems and Defacing Private/Public Property Offenses in the First District

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District and Amtrak Police announce an arrest has been made in reference to Display of Certain Emblems and Defacing Private/Public Property Offenses that occurred in the First District.
Display of Certain Emblems: On Friday, January 28, 2022, at approximately 12:45 am, the suspect spray painted swastikas on the pillars and building in the Unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast. This offense is being investigated by Amtrak Police with assistance by MPD.
Defacing Private/ Public Property: On Friday, January 28, 2022, at approximately 4:25 pm, it was reported that the suspect spray painted graffiti on buildings at the following locations:
-900 block of 5th Street, Northwest
-400 block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest
-400 block of L Street, Northwest
On Friday, January 28, 2022, 34 year-old Geraldo Pando, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Display of Certain Emblems and Defacing Private/Public Property.
