- Suspect Sought in a Robbery (Fear) Offense: 800 Block of H Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in reference to a Robbery (Fear) offense that occurred on Monday, January 10, 2022, in the 800 block of H Street, Northeast.
At approximately 1:40 pm, the suspect entered an establishment and approached an employee at the listed location. The suspect snatched the employee’s wallet and demanded US currency from the cash registered. The suspect then lifted his shirt as if he had a weapon, destroyed the cash register, and took US currency from the cash register. The suspect then fled the scene.

- Armed Carjacking Attempt – 1500 Block of Massachusetts Ave SE
The First District is currently investigating an attempted armed carjacking that occurred at approximately 12:50 pm on January 12. The victim reported that while retrieving his child from his vehicle, the suspect approached armed with a handgun and demanded his vehicle. The victim refused and was assaulted by the suspect, causing non-life threatening injuries. No shots were fired during this incident. The suspect then left without obtaining the vehicle. The child was not physically harmed.
The suspect was described as Black Male, approximately 20 years of age, 6’1″ wearing a black hoodie, black mask and blue jeans. He was last seen fleeing towards 16th St SE.
- Suspect Sought in a Burglary Two Offense: 500 Block of H Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in reference to a Burglary Two offense that occurred on Sunday, January 9, 2022, in the 500 block of H Street, Northeast.
At approximately 6:23 am, the suspect forcibly entered an establishment at the listed location. Once inside, the suspect took property then fled the scene.
The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos at right and in this video.
- Arrest Made in a Burglary One Offense: 700 Block of G Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to a Burglary One offense that occurred on Thursday, January 6, 2022, in the 700 block of G Street, Northeast.
At approximately 3:37 pm, the suspect gained entry into an occupied residence at the listed location. Once inside, the suspect took property then fled the scene.
On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, 66 year-old Bernard Willis, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Burglary One.
- Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) Offense: Unit Block of M Street, Northwest
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, December 18, 2021, in the Unit block of M Street, Northwest.
At approximately 8:18 pm, Fifth District officers responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a firearm being discharged. A short time later, an adult male victim walked into an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. The victim sustained minor injuries.
On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, 31 year-old Kevin LaFortune, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect and vehicle in reference to a Burglary Two offense that occurred on Monday, January 3, 2022, in the 900 block of M Street, Southeast.
At approximately 10:03 pm, the suspect forcibly entered an establishment at the listed location. Once inside, the suspect took property then fled the scene in a vehicle.
