A Photographic Review, Pt. 2

You really never know what you’ll come across on the streets of our neighborhood – here, for instance, was a pole-vaulting exhibit/competition on C Street between 7th and 8th SE. (RSP)
It’s easy to forget that there is a lot of nature close to us. Here, grizzled Anacostia River Guide and friend of the blog Tim Krepp examines old locks on the Anacostia River (RSP)
Capitol Hill received a new connection across the Anacostia River this year, with the new Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge opening to much fanfare and cut ribbons (RSP)
All of these events happened in the shadow of the Covid pandemic, and there were those who want to make sure that the individuals who lost their lives will not be forgotten. This memorial, consisting of small white flags each representing one death, was set up on the Mall, just below the Washington Monument (RSP)
Other events were more timeless, and this year’s fall colors were particularly nice (RSP)
And, of course, we sent our photographer out to capture the lighting of the Capitol Christmas Tree (RSP)
