Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District announce an arrest has been made in reference to Robbery (Fear) and Kidnapping offenses that occurred on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in the in the 900 block of 3rd Street, Northeast.
At approximately 10:00 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect reached into his waistband as if he had a weapon and demanded property from the victim. The suspect forced the victim to walk to a nearby bank and withdraw US currency from an ATM. The suspect took property from the victim and fled the scene.
On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, 19 year-old Jawaun Fernanders, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Robbery (Fear) and Kidnapping.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Aggravated Assault offense that occurred on Monday, December 6, 2021, in the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast.
At approximately 5:37 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim then fled the scene. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
On Thursday, December 16, 2021, 30 year-old Roman Strickland, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.
- Person and Vehicle of Interest Sought in a Burglary One Offense: 600 Block of 6th Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in identifying a person and vehicle of interest in reference to a Burglary One offense that occurred on Monday, December 13, 2021, in the 600 block of 6th Street, Northeast.
At approximately 1:50 pm, the suspect gained entry into an occupied residence at the listed location. Once inside, the suspect took property then fled the scene with another suspect in a vehicle.
A person and vehicle of interest was captured by surveillance cameras and can be seen in the photos above and in this video.
- Arrests Made in an Armed Robbery (Gun) Offense: 900 Block of I (Eye) Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce arrests have been made in reference to an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, December 17, 2021, in the 900 block of I (Eye) Street, Northeast.
At approximately 11:25 pm, the suspects approached the victims at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victims property. Three other suspects then approached the victims and took property from them. The suspects then fled the scene. A short time later, the suspects were apprehended and a firearm was recovered.
On Monday, December 6, 2021, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, a 14 year-old juvenile male of Northeast, DC, a 17 year-old juvenile male and a 16 year-old juvenile male, both of Southeast, DC, were arrested and charged with Armed Robbery (Gun).
