  • Arrest Made in Burglary One Offense: 700 Block of 5th Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to a Burglary One offense that occurred on Sunday, November 7, 2021, in the 700 block of 5th Street, Northeast,
At approximately 6:48 pm, the suspect gained entry into an occupied residence at the listed location. Once inside, the suspect attempted to take property. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
On Sunday, November 7, 2021, 21 year-old Jakeem Tariq Pope, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Burglary One.

  • Suspect Apprehended in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) Offense: 1600 Block of Rosedale Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District announce a suspect has been apprehended in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, November 5, 2021, in the 1600 block of Rosedale Street, Northeast.
At approximately 9:25 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult female victim, inside of a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
A short time later, members of the Fifth District observed and stopped the suspect vehicle. Once the vehicle stopped, the suspect produced a firearm and shot herself inside of the vehicle. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The suspect’s firearm was recovered.
On Friday, November 5, 2021, 54 year-old Tommie Lynn Dunmire, of Norfolk, Virginia, was apprehended in reference to this offense. Criminal charges are pending against her.

  • Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) Offense: Unit Block of H Street, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, November 5, 2021, in the unit block of H Street, Northwest.
At approximately 11:09 pm, the victim and suspect were involved in a verbal altercation at the listed location. The suspect then assaulted the victim and brandished a handgun. The suspect was arrested by responding officers and the firearm was recovered on scene. There were no injuries reported.
On Friday, November 5, 2021, 37 year-old Richard Nduba, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

  • Arrest Made in a Robbery (Force and Violence) Offense: 200 Block of 8th Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Sunday, November 7, 2021, in the 200 block of 8th Street, Southeast.
At approximately 4:02 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
On Sunday, November 7, 2021, 18 year-old Eric Smith, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Robbery (Force and Violence).

  • Suspect Sought in a Burglary Two of an Establishment Offense: 700 Block of 8th Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in reference to a Burglary Two of an Establishment offense that occurred on Saturday, November 6, 2021, in the 700 block of 8th Street, Southeast.
At approximately 11:19 pm, the suspect forcibly gained entry to an establishment at the listed location. The suspect took a bicycle then fled the scene.
The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photo below. A photo of the stolen bicycle can also been seen above.

  • Persons of Interest Sought in an Armed Carjacking (Gun) Offense: Unit Block of M Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating persons of interest in reference to an Armed Carjacking (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, October 31, 2021, in the unit block of M Street, Northeast.
At approximately 1:20 am, the suspect approached the victim, who was seated in their vehicle, at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle
The persons of interest were captured by a nearby surveillance camera using the victim’s stolen credit cards and can be seen in the photos above.
