For one, crime has been steady lately. Last week, ANC 6B organized a community meeting to discuss crime. Larry over at Capitol Hill Corner breaks down the main points of the meeting. Meanwhile, WTOP took a look at what happens when you’re arrested for having an illegal gun in the District–which isn’t very much, unfortunately. This is worrisome, considering the proliferation of ghost guns, or DIY guns that don’t have serial numbers and therefore are untraceable.

In bothersome news, Honda wheel and tire thieves are still going nuts around the area. It seems that even with wheel locks, Hondas are still particularly targeted. A neighbor who recently moved from the Midwest had his tires stolen in three separate occasions. Many of you have written in to ask whether it would be easy to trace the ubiquitous milk crates where the cars are left after they are robbed, but no word from MPD so far:

An unlicensed marijuana dispensary on H Street NE was robbed back in February of 2019 and the criminals were apprehended and pled guilty to the robbery charges. No word on whether the dispensary is still unlicensed. USAO

Ward 8 leaders are looking forward to seeing their ward boundaries expand west of the Anacostia river, reports the Washington Informer.
