- Arrest Made in a Robbery (Snatch) Offense: 1600 Block of Benning Road, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District announce an arrest has been made in a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Sunday, May 23, 2021, in the 1600 block of Benning Road, Northeast.
At approximately7:50 am, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. Once inside, the suspect snatched US currency from the counter. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
On Sunday, May 23, 2021, 32 year-old Louis Darnell Hicks, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Robbery (Snatch).

First District
On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, between approximately 12:00 am and 8:00 am, the suspect entered an occupied residence in the 1500 block of K Street, Southeast. Once inside, the suspect took property then fled the scene. CCN: 21-065-124
Fifth District
On Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at approximately 3:26 am, the suspect entered an occupied residence in the 4000 block of 22nd Street, Northeast. The suspect fled the scene without obtaining any property. CCN: 21-065-016
On Wednesday, May 19, 2021, 28 year-old Makel McGrier, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with two counts of Burglary One.
- Arrest Made in an Unarmed Carjacking Offense: 300 Block of 17th Street, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Unarmed Carjacking offense that occurred on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, in the 300 block of 17th Street, Southeast.
At approximately 3:55 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects took the vehicle keys from the victim and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Unarmed Carjacking.
This case remains under investigation.
- Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon Offense (Gun): Unit Block of M Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District announce an arrest has been made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Monday, May 24, 2021, in the Unit Block of M Street, Northeast.
At approximately 9:48 pm, the victims were walking in front of the listed location when they were approached by the suspect who brandished a weapon. The suspect was apprehended by responding units.
On Monday, May 24, 2021, 52 year-old James Coates, of Northeast, DC was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
- Arrest Made in a Homicide: 400 Block of 8th Street, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made in a homicide that occurred on Saturday, May 8, 2021, in the 400 block of 8th Street, Southeast.
At approximately 5:45 pm, members of the First District responded to the listed location for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from an apparent stab wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found no signs consistent with life. The decedent remained on the scene until being transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 29 year-old Keith Frye, of Southeast, DC.
On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) arrested 43 year-old Aaron Kenon, of Southwest, DC. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed.
- Arrest Made in a Burglary Two Offense: 1500 Block of East Capitol Street, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to a Burglary Two offense that occurred on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, in the 1500 block of East Capitol Street, Southeast.
At approximately 8:32 pm, the suspect forcibly entered a residence at the listed location. Once inside, the suspect took property then fled the scene.
On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 19 year-old DaQuan Tucker, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Burglary Two.
