  • Arrest Made in an Attempt to Commit Robbery While Armed Offense: 200 Block of G Street, Southwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announced an arrest has been made in an Attempt to Commit Robbery While Armed offense that occurred on Sunday, March 28, 2021, in the 200 block of G Street, Southwest.
At approximately 12:03 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished what appeared to be a handgun and attempted to take the victim’s property. The suspect failed to take property and was apprehended by responding officers. Further investigation revealed the suspect was armed with a replica handgun.
On Sunday, March 28, 2021, a 16 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged wth Attempt to Commit Robbery While Armed.

  • Suspect and a Vehicle of Interest Sought in a Theft Two (From Auto) Offense: 1300 Block of Okie Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect and a vehicle of interest in reference to a Theft Two (From Auto) offense that occurred on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, in the 1300 Block of Okie Street, Northeast.
At approximately 2:00 pm, the suspect forcibly entered a parked vehicle at the listed location. The suspect took property then fled the scene.
The suspect and a vehicle of interest were captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos above.

  • Arrest Made in an Attempt to Commit Robbery Offense: Unit Block of L Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announced an arrest has been made in an Attempt to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Sunday, March 28, 2021, in the unit block of L Street, Southeast.
At approximately 11:28 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a box cutter and attempted to take the victim’s property. The suspect failed to take property and was apprehended by responding officers.
On Sunday, March 28, 2021, 22 year-old Eldorado Williams, of Northeast, DC, was arrested a1nd charged with Attempt to Commit Robbery.

  • Arrest Made in an Attempt to Commit Robbery While Armed (Knife) Offense: 500 Block of 4th Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announced an arrest has been made in an Attempt to Commit Robbery While Armed (Knife) offense that occurred on Monday, March 29, 2021, in the 500 block of 4th Street, Southeast.
At approximately 6:55 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and attempted to take the victim’s vehicle keys. The victim refused and the suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
On Monday, March 29, 2021, 20 year-old Tykeel Wilson, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Attempt to Commit Robbery While Armed (Knife).

  • Homicide: 1700 Block of Gales Place, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred Saturday, March 27, 2021, in the 1700 Block of Gales Place, Northeast.
At approximately 1:11 am, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 42 year-old Kermit Cain Jr., of Northeast, DC.
