Today would have been George Harrison’s 78th birthday and you should celebrate it by listening to “All Things Must Pass” (appropriate) and getting some takeout from one of our favorite local places. What else is there to do?

A perennial to do weekend plan? Visiting Eastern Market! This photo from 1889 comes from the DC History collection. Follow the link to learn more

Visiting Eastern Market is one of the best weekend plans ever and I feel like it doesn’t get enough love in the to do list. The photo accompanying today’s list is from 1889, but the feeling is the same. Go visit the indoor and outdoor markets and support all the talented makers who show up to 7th Street, rain or shine, to bring their beautiful wares. And if you don’t, do follow the DC History Center online. Talk about an incredible weekend plan: Spend a long time exploring their resources and collections. You won’t regret it.
