ANC:

Update From Your ANC Commissioner

Local government doesn’t take a break, and we appreciate the commitment and selflessness of our volunteer officers at the most local levels of government. Are you a commissioner or commissioner-elect who regularly emails their constituents? Add info@thehillishome.com to your distribution list!– Maria Helena Carey

From K. Denise Rucker Krepp, ANC 6B10

Good afternoon.  PoPville published a story this morning regarding a horrific crime that occurred Sunday, November 22 at 5:50 p.m. on the 1700 block of East Capitol Street SE.

“The second incident was at 17th & East Capitol St. SE at about 5:49 PM. The victims, three related adults with several small children, had just parked and were getting out of their passenger van. Three juvenile suspects approached them and one of them pointed a handgun and demanded their property. One of the adult victims turned over her purse. When the other adult female who was still in the van was reluctant to turn over her purse, one of the suspects took ahold of one of the children who is four years old.”

After reading the blurb above, I contacted MPD for additional information. The three juveniles involved in the robbery had stolen a car earlier that day and then proceeded to rob multiple people.
If you live on or near 17th and East Capitol, please share your videos with MPD.
Like you, I’m concerned about the significant increase in armed crimes involving juveniles in Hill East in the past couple of months.
