Election 2020:

ANC Candidate Statements: Rico Dancy, ANC 6A07

It’s 42 days until election day and most of you have probably made up your minds about whom you will vote in the general election. However, when it comes to local elections, most people have no idea how their District, Ward or advisory neighborhood commissions are divided or affect them. Local outlets such as Greater Greater Washington do a good job of bringing hyperlocal politics news, and reasons why you should run for these nonpartisan offices. OpenANC allows you to learn more about your own single-member district, so you know the names of the people in the race. As is now a tradition, The Hill is Home is publishing candidate statements in the order in which we’ve received them, so you know a little more about the people running and don’t go into the voting booth (or mail-in ballot) blind. –Maria Helena Carey

Statement by Rico Dancy, ANC 6A07

Hello, my name is Rico Dancy I am Deaf and Running  for ANC commissioner. The reason why am running for office is because I want to make some change, affordable housing police reform and better transportation for the people. I moved to Washington DC in 2018 and I have seen protesters at the protests on police reform so that’s why I’m running. That’s why I run for office and also in 2022 I would also run for city council At-large. Also, I am a single father who fights for everyone, for all people are Americans. My email is DeafPolitics2022@yahoo.com. That’s my campaign email. All, remember: Rico Dancy for the people. Thank you so much for your time.
