Happy autumn! And really, who doesn’t love to celebrate the season of coziness and change with temperatures in the 80s and 90s? But we digress. What’s been going on?
Let’s kick things off with a vegan-friendly tourist guide of the District. We are a little shocked to see that this vegan guide includes only the veggie burger at Shouk in the Union Market area, and has a passing mention of Bluejacket (vegan beer?) yet does not reference Fare Well, Hempburger, Fancy Radish or Pow Pow. There was also no mention of our impressive array of Ethiopian restaurants, which are all very veg-friendly. You have failed vegan tourists, Veg News. Why would you be so cruel?

Hard to believe it’s been one year since the Capper Senior Public Housing burned down, displacing over 100 seniors from their homes. A second lawsuit was recently filed on behalf of several residents. WTOP

Did you know that nothing is open in DC past 7 p.m. and it’s all chain restaurants anyway? Someone who has never been on H Street NE is opening a Halloween-themed year-round bar…. on H Street NE. Eater
No, David Krucoff: We don’t’ want to be part of Maryland. DCist
Did you know there is a publication called School Construction News? Me either, but they discuss Maury’s renovation and it’s interesting.
A couple of kids riding JUMP scooters tried to steal someone’s Vespa near Lincoln Park on Monday the 16. Washington Post
In a possibly Bonnie and Clyde-esque twist, these two adorable Millennial types tied the knot while riding around and posing on JUMP scooters at Lincoln Park. Clearly there is some strange alchemy when it comes to JUMP scooters and Lincoln Park. Washingtonian
