Volunteering & Giving:

Furloughed? Heal With Music Lessons!

The year hasn’t been off to a stellar start for many of us, especially those who are not drawing a salary due to the Federal government’s closure. Earlier in the day, I highlighted posts from Eater and Barred in DC where the writers rounded up special offers for Federal employees during the shutdown. Here is one more offer to warm your heart and help you do something to take your mind off the current situation: Music!

Music on the Hill, 801 D Street NE, will be giving free music lessons every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. until the shutdown ends.

This Wednesday, January 9, come and take a free beginning guitar class from instructors Harley Cullen and Matt Kingsley. Bring your own instrument, or borrow one of ours –just come and play some of that shutdown stress away! By the way, you don’t need to pre-register: Just show up!!!

Ah, the sweet sound of generosity in A major.
