Apparently, America is deeply divided on the subject of, oh, I don’t know– pretty much everything? Among those divisions, Tally shared the results from a national survey on whether people like holiday eggnog. DC is in the anti-eggnog camp, although it was too close to call with 942 responses, according to the survey results. Personally, I think people are anti *bad* eggnog. A good ‘nog, with the whipped egg white clouds, can be very near to poetry.
Another gem in our inbox this week was from WalletHub, where their number crunching revealed that the DC is the 12th best city for Christmas, ranking as number 2 in generosity (Number 1 as best in online giving– woo!) and number 9 for overall traditions and fun. After baking an obscene amount of cookies for my son’s cookie exchange, I feel I deserve an award, so thank you, WalletHub: I’ll take it. I may just have to wash these cookies down with some fine eggnog. Not sure I agree that Las Vegas is the number one place for shopping, even with the methodology explainer, but hey.
Happy Holidays, everyone! Share with us how you celebrate here in the District, and here’s hoping your house is not a house divided. Merry Christmas from all of us at The Hill is Home!
