Riverby Books, the charming second-hand bookstore located at 417 East Capitol Street SE, just announced via Instagram that they will be closing their Capitol Hill store by the end of the year. According to their social media manager, the closure is the owners’ personal decision and the Fredericksburg, Virginia, store will still be open. Riverby Books originally opened in Fredericksburg in 1994 and expanded to Capitol Hill in 2001. They will be sorely missed– especially at Halloween, where the store employees would hand each trick-or-treater a book.
