On The Hill:

When you think of the classic pop-rock sound, a sound similar to White Reaper’s probably comes to mind. These guys are good and aren’t afraid to let everyone know: Their newest album is literally called The World’s Best American Band. The Kentucky-based group has played their energetic, layered guitar riffs and melodies to fans at sold-out shows and festival sets, including a main stage performance at Chicago’s Lollapalooza. Whether it’s a packed basement show or an open-air festival, this band celebrates rock and roll like no other. See White Reaper on November 7 at the Rock & Roll Hotel. Buy your tickets now.

Alex Clare rose to success with his hit “Too Close” in 2011 and is back in the game with his latest release, Tail of Lions. Though much has changed for Alex since his initial radio success –record label changes, a family, and a move to Jerusalem to name a few– his passion for music remained steady. Clare’s new album is a combination of his personal experiences and his eclectic musical background. The stories within his songs are interlaced with catchy melodies and powerful vocals. Catch Alex Clare at the Rock & Roll Hotel on November 13. Get your tickets here.

Around DC:

Nick Fradiani gained national recognition throughout his time on American Idol and released his debut solo album, Hurricane, after his win. Since then, Fradiani has continued to create pop music that speaks both to his journey so far and to his current path. His newest album, Where We Left Off, was released in October. Pearl Street Warehouse, one of the new venues at The Wharf, hosts Nick Fradiani on November 4. GA Seated, GA Standing, and Meet and Greet tickets are available. This event is for those 21 and over. Pick up your tickets here.

Lindsey Stirling is not only an incredibly talented, acclaimed violinist but also a theatrical performer. She combines a classic instrument, electronic music, and graceful dance (yes, while she plays the violin) to create a show unlike any other. Billions of views on YouTube, multiple chart-topping albums, collaborations with huge artists, and sold-out shows in huge venues around the world show how fast Sterling rocketed to success since her debut. You won’t want to miss Lindsey Stirling at The Anthem on November 10. Buy your tickets now.

With the recent releases from Philadelphia quintet Joy Again, the band is spreading its creative sound beyond the underground scene where it currently thrives. FADER music magazine said that Joy Again’s music “will undoubtedly leave you smiling.” The band has played with the likes of Car Seat Headrest, Hinds, and Daywave, and is headed out on this tour with Furnsss. Joy Again will perform at Alfred House, (formerly The Bayou Bar) between Georgetown and George Washington University, on November 13.

If you have not had the opportunity to check out DC’s newest addition to the list of music venues, this is your chance! The Anthem will host the National Symphony Orchestra on November 15. This show is completely free, so bring your family down for a night of wonderful music. It’s best to reserve your spot here, but those without reservations will still be welcome on a first-come-first-serve basis. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the performance will begin at 7:30. This show is one of NSO’s events that work to connect the orchestra and classical music with the DC community.
