Around DC:

Behold the Brave’s impressive, unforgettable sound combines Southern rock, blues, and psychedelic melodies. Every song brings a different vibe to the stage with the wide range of influences that span across decades of music. The Howling Tongues will also be performing with Behold the Brave. With classic rock influences such as The Stooges, Led Zeppelin, and The Who, you can be sure that this set will be powerful. Raspy vocals and fuzzy tones are this band’s signature. Run for Cover is an extremely unique show. Makeshift, single-performance bands made up of rockers in the community prepare for months for this show. These bands come out for a night of tributes and covers to benefit Girls Rock! DC. Girls Rock is a rock camp for girls aged 8-18. This camp, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, helps develop self-confidence and build a community through collaborative music. Black Cat will host Run for Cover 2017 on August 12. This event has sold out in past years, so get your tickets now!

Does Santana even need an introduction? In case you need a refresher, Santana is an American Latin Rock band, formed in 1966 and fronted by legendary Mexican-American guitarist Carlos Santana. They first hit the public eye with their Woodstock performance during the Summer of Love and took over the music world from there on. Santana have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, won nine Grammys and three Latin Grammys, and sold more that 90 million records worldwide. The band released Santana IV in April 2016. This record included the 1970s classic lineup and was the first time the original five had recorded together in 45 years. Don’t miss this incredible show on August 15 at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Buy your tickets here.

The Mattson 2 is a guitar-and-drums duo, comprised of identical twins Jared and Jonathan Mattson.
